Taking a Step Back

I’ve been doing quite some thinking about things, and considering the interpretations my post from the other day has got, and some of the speculations going on I’ve decided to take it and the followup post offline. I’ve tried explaining my viewpoint on it, but it hasn’t seemed to make much of a difference.

I love being able to communicate with fans of the games I make, and I certainly won’t stop communicating on how to make the best games possible for all of you guys.

I did see both of the entries you were refering too, and i did read the “wild guessing” which followed up all over the internet minutes later. :)

Seems like all BF2 games are in desperate need for a BF3 (including myselfe ;) )

I am part of the development team of one of the biggest opensource applications (MediaPortal).
So i know how hard it is sometimes to keep something new and cool a “secret” from the public, until it matured far enought to make it public.
    But i am getting a bit off-topic now :)

I’ve started to get into Battlefield with the release of the Battlefield 2 Demo.
Even though i am playing it very rarely since the release of BF-BC on xbox360, i still play BF2-Mods and create movies with it (www.fear-productions.com).

It is great to read that you want to stay in touch with “your” community.

So i was wondering if DICE also has an eye on the Movies created with BF2 games?
If so, it you might want to consider to write a blog entry at some point about them? :)

I can understand your decision, thanks anyways.

Anyone smell the fear? maybe it was something else that stank? :D

Take your time with Battlefail 24 dice, no hurry as there is no anticipation.

I can see your reasoning and I understand. Forget about those people who choose to make broad assumptions from an innocent post you made, and draw outrageous assumptions about you, DICE, and EA.

Just remember there are those of us (like me) who always expect a lot from DICE, but we aren’t quite so narrow-minded about it.

DICE’s success is also its Achilles heel. You’ve set the standard so high with previous games that we only accept perfection ;)

Take it as a compliment. You won’t get the same ’strong feelings’ from other game studios, because those studios don’t have the drawing power like DICE.

Totally understandable, keep on keeping on!
